-rubbed spirit varnish. Ebony/maple purfling, boxwood Hill accessories, Milo Stamm Standart bridge, two black adjusters. Thomastik dominant strings. Karel Poplstein was born on 21st January, 1973 in Luby, a small town with long violin tradition. His interest in building musical instruments brought him to studying the Secondary Industrial School of Musical Instruments Production in Kraslice which he finished in
1987. Since 1993 he has been constructing concert and master instruments for world
-known company Akord Kvint, Ltd. In this company he sharpened his skills under the leadership of master luthiers Josef Dvorak, Josef Holpuch and Jan Lorenz. In 1995 he passed exams in the violin school in Luby under the leadership of Zdenek Zadina. In 1996 he started to build the violins under his own name. Nowadays he cooperates in his professional development with luthiers Jan Poetzl, Michael van Berkum and Eduard Schwen.
