GUIDE ON HOW TO USE THE ACCU-CHEK SOFTCLIX LANCING DEVICE The Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device is simple to operate, due to the onehand priming and pen-like design. To use this device, please follow these simple instructions: | 1. Pull off the cap on the lancing device. 2. Insert a new lancet into the lancet holder and push it in until it clicks. 3. Twist off the lancets’ protective cover to expose the point. 4. Press the Accu-Chek Softclix cap on again until it clicks. Check that you have the Comfort Dial at the desired penetration depth. 5. Set the needle penetration depth to match your individual skin type - by turning the dial on the cap you can select the depth of the lancet. Depth setting 6 is the deepest and depth setting 1 is the shallowest. Set the dial to 2 to begin with. You may need to adjust the setting a couple of times until you find the right level setting for your skin type. 6. To use the lancing device you first need to prime it. Press the priming button until it clicks. 7. Gently press Accu-Chek Softclix against the side of the fingertip and press the yellow release button. 8. After measuring your blood glucose, pull off the Softclix cap and slide the ejector forwards to remove the lancet. (Discard directly into a suitable sharps container.) Treat fingertips with care by using lancets only once. Sharpness diminishes with repeated use, a fresh lancet is recommended every time you test. Using a sharp lancet and using a different fingertip each time you test will help minimise tissue damage and callus formation. Combine this with the patented Clixmotion technology from Accu-Chek, and you can be assured of especially gentle and virtually pain-free blood sampling.
